Our Mission

The Port of Hood River Foundation’s mission is to raise funds and foster community partnerships to strengthen the region’s connection to its waterfront and airport, enhancing access, safety, and quality of life for all who live, work, and play in Hood River.

Education Scholarship

Foundation History

Established in October 2024, the Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organized under Oregon law. Created by the Port of Hood River Resolution No. 2024-25-9, the Foundation operates independently while proudly supporting the Port’s long-term commitment to stewardship and community investment.

Board of Directors

The Foundation is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors that manages its programs and resources. The Board includes up to seven members serving staggered terms and brings together expertise from across the Hood River community.

Interested in Joining the Board?

We are looking for engaged community leaders to help shape the future of Hood River’s waterfront and aviation opportunities.


We welcome individuals who:

  • Are 18 or older and passionate about the Hood River and Columbia Gorge community
  • Bring experience or interest in business, community development, finance, environmental sustainability, aviation and watersports
  • Offer creativity, collaboration and a commitment to public service

Board Meetings

The Board meets at least once annually, with special meetings as needed.
